For those enrolled in this Spring Event where customers are getting their oil changes for $9.95 or whatever-do you just discount the filter? Does service eat the difference? Who gets the $10 credit from GM for each one sold? Thanks in advance...

Have any of you had the customers with the diesels or synthetics that expect their L.O.F. for $19.95 and thats it. We had a customer that felt he shouldn't have to pay for the additional oil in his diesel since the coupon says $19.95 or less. I must say I agree with him, too bad they didn't exclude those vehicles with synthetic or diesels. We always exclude them when we run an L.O.F. special. If you look at the intial information about the Spring Promotion it doesn't mention anything about diesels or synthetics. When I called RMS the guy told me we were going to just have to bite the bullet and thats the way it is. Then they wonder why we hold back when they come out with these programs, somehow we get burned in the end everytime. Oh well thats enough whinning for now.

It is hard to bite the bullet when the price of synthetic is high. That must be the definition of a lost leader.
