Southeastern Pensylvania

Things have sure been spotty here lately. Just seem to be loosing more and more customer pay work, warraty is down too. 2 techs turning out about 60 hrs of work a week. We're a GM store and have run out of intake gaskets and brake recalls to work at. We are selling tires and everything to keep them from going elswhere. Haven't dipped to selling Power steering and brake fluid flushes yet.

What's working for you guys ?

Southcentral PA here. Power steering flush the latest 'maintenance' item to come up. If it's a fluid, they'll flush it here. Actually, it's picked up here in just the past few weeks. Nothing to write home about by any means, but enough that techs aren't doing training all day just to have something to do.

Service is starting to pick up but nowhere near "normal". Parts wholesale was up the last week and a half, but it too is still off.

chevyguy, something that was started in the past six months here is a 'Oil Change Club'. After six oil changes they get the seventh free. I wouldn't call it a program that will save a dieing franchise, but it seems to have helped to get customers to come back, even if it is just for oil changes.
