Of those who have won a Free Vacation Trip through the Manufacturer has your dealer charged your earned vacation time against you for that time off?
Thanks for responding

I have won five trips before GM quit their program and the time was not counted against my vacation time. Hoping with the government out of GM at the end of the year they start the trip contests up again.

Nope.
They took it in stride. Did not count against me though as the looked at is as it was a win for the dealership winning that in the first place.

No, my DP was proud that his store was a winner and comped me the time. But you will get 1099ed for the value of the trip (Uncle Sam's fault not the factory).

Get a local travel agent to get you the price of that trip. GM takes the total cost of the entire trip, and divides it by the 'winners'. Their people (GM - reps) go for free, they don't get a 1099. I went on a cruise several years ago, got a 1099 for nearly $6k!! Got the IRS to adjust it when I got local quotes on the REAL value.... but that was enough. I will decline any trips, ect 'won' from GM. The dealer can have them!
