i'd like to know how many people have parts dept. web sites, and what kind of business are they getting. are you selling mostly accessories, or parts or both? what kind of revenue has it generated?

Good Question,

Three of my seven stores just added that feature to their home page. We are using the same processes to run the parts and service scheduling as we do for the sales department.

This weekend will be the first time we have promoted the parts and service links on the home page in conjunction with our traditional print advertising. I'll keep you posted on he results.

I can tell you this about 15% of our whole sale customers are using it to contact the stores and it helps to Keep the parts counter guys from getting tied up on the phone with nonsense. Thus increasing productivity and sales. As this platform grows I anticipate that a lot more of our wholesale parts businesses will come from the web. In my humble opinion that in itself make the whole project worthwhile.

Let me tell you...... I found a dealer in a small town in Texas that ROCKS with their parts web site. http://www.courtesynissan.com/


They generate over 28,000 unique visitors a month and have great success with it! I think the key is work it man! Work it! The person who handles this site spends many hours promoting the site.

I would suggest to you take a look.

How many of the "unique visitors" bought parts? Any figures as to monthly internet sales and gross profit? How about returns

Great question!

I don't know this dealer personally. I can only guess what they may do $$$ wise. Even if only 10% are buying $50 of parts or even less than that 1% it is still good!

I can try to find out how they are doing from the sales rep.
