Some help please, I am returning to ADP after a few years. What is the function to setup and manage Parts Kits?

Thank you in advance.

Is there any way to set up prices in the parts kits like with Reynolds?

very good question. UCS parts kit funtions are able to price parts individually or as a total package with one bulk price. That feature allows you to make a kit, bump the prices a little and not have to show each individual price. I have not been able to find this feature with ADP.

DustyLBottoms, one way to setup the kits with the pricing is by doing an RO parts quote through function PRO. The quote can be given a name and description and be set to never drop off the system through the RQR function. I know of two Mercedes stores that have a quote setup for all of the parts for every maintenance package for every model line they have. The pricing can be setup to be special on these quotes, but each part will show up on the repair order.

I like the fact that with ADP the prices are not preset. In most states it is illegal to have different prices to sell the same item retail. IE: any retail sale of oilfilter part number 123 must always price out the same. It doesn't matter if it is in your quick lube, a standard LOF, a 30k maintenance or the retail parts counter it must sell for the same price. If you need to discount create a separate part number in the SDL list with a negative quantity (-1) and the dollar amount you wish to use. This way you get to control the parts discount; not the Service advisor using a Parts coupon.

I know of many stores which use the permanent quote system as described by Matt, but they have created an accounting mess as the kit prices need to be constantly updated for costs. I have just taken over a store which had the GL overstated by close to $83,000 by using this process and not correcting the costing of these permanent quotes.

Good news on quotes and stored COST prices.

The latest release has a routine called UPQ (Update parts quote).

This routine updates the cost and gives you a report of changed items.
