We are a large dealer with multiple shop locations, main shop, second shop, and body shop. These buildings are within 3 blocks of each other. Upon receiving parts during check in our clerks can't tell which building the part is for very easily. We currently place a number in front of the customer name for quick notice. We only use one company number so all orders are in the same order file. And all service orders are in one file.Any thoughts?

At this time the only way the system can tell whom the part is for is by using the Inv/Service Order number and customer name.

I have seen where some of our other stores will change the control number prior to approving and transmitting the order to the manufacturer so that they can distinguish between the body shop parts and the parts department orders. But it sounds like your dealership is putting all parts on one order.

Tony, I have solicited this response from one of our Parts Subject Matter Experts. If you would like to speak with her in person to further discuss this, just let me know.
