open ro report

Postby helpers1 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 9:06 am

I've been using "ROR" every month to give to the dealer showing open ro's, but I am finding this isn't the best report - ro's that have been "closed" but not updated to accounting yet do not show in "ROR" - I simply want a report of all ro's that have not updated into accounting. Where can I find this?

I would build an RPG using the LABOR or WIP file. This will include all RO's, including closed.

The day-end routine will delete the closed RO's, so make sure it runs before function RAC if you job-stack it.

I guess it's just frustrating when I thought that would have been a canned report - why wouldn't the ROR include these tickets? Doesn't the service/body shop manager want to know what tickets haven't been updated into accounting yet? They could hang out there forever, if someone didn't "build" yet another report to provide some very crucial information. Didn't intend to rant, but after 2 years of "building reports", I'd like to move on to being able to do something ABOUT the info - rather than have to deal with trying to get the info out of the system. Again, sorry to rant, and I love a lot of the flexibility I have with ADP, but some things seem so elementary, that I'm frustrated I have to spend my time to "build" them - and don't want to be charged by ADP to build it, and don't want to wait around while ADP builds it.

ROR is an acronym for Report Open ROs

A closed RO that isnt in accounting yet, is not an open RO.

By the time you look at the end-of day reports (next morning), all of these closed ROs will be in accounting.
Closed ROs will not hang out forever.

Sorry to offend you by offering RPG as a solution some people love em others, not so much.

Standard reports that should work
Report RRS (report RO Summary) will work
Web2000 Closed RO performance report will work
Web2000 Statistic link to closed ROs will work

I'm certainly not offended - I asked for a solution and you provided one - just not as user friendly as I was hoping.

I had previously been told (by service) that an ro can be "closed" without posting final charges, which would cause the ro to hang out in limbo. But it sounds like I had bad info.

I will try the other suggestions - thanks for the info!

I have an english statement that will show you just the parts on open ro's. If you run this and compare to ROR anything appearing on the english report that is not on ROR means it hasn't been through accounting yet.

If you run them first thing in the morning before your store opens in theory they should be exactly the same provided there are no PID errors.

ENG
SORT WIP WITH NO POSTED TOTAL TOTAL-COST LPTR

I hope this helps.

I left out in the previous post that this is on from the parts side. So the ROR is from the parts logon no the service.
