Where to send CD's for recycle?

Richard, I'm not sure what information you are looking for? Someplace to send CD's for recycling?

Yes, that is what I need. Along with the recent shipping snafu's, I also have quite a few AOL disks, and it seems a shame to toss 20+ #'s of CD's in the garbage when I know that they can be recycled.

Richard, never heard of a place that recycles CD's. I have placed an inquiry with our distribution department and will let you know what they come back with.

Certainly would be a good thing however if such a place exists.

Richard, our distribution team does not know of any process or company that recycles CD's. We do ask for Parts Master Tapes back as we re-use that medium.

I have done a quick check of the Internet and see companies that recycle CD cases, but not the CD's. Being that the medium we use is CDR it can not be re-written. Thus the only recycle value would be in the plastic.

I think the circular file is calling there name.

They accept CD's only, no cases, or packaging. Music, Data, CD-ROM's Writable CD's only.
You pay to ship them. You get nothing out of it, except for the fact that you havn't dumped plastic and aluminum into a landfill, or worse, into a burn unit, where they give off toxic fumes.

Richard, thank you. I will work with our distribution team to see if we can include a note in our shipments regarding this. Saving our planet is surely a worthwhile cause.
