WebSuite 2006

I am not on the new upgraded version yet (still on '05), but I've heard from another controller who has the '06 upgrade that the print is too small....is there a fix for this, or has it even been brought up in the test period?

The websuite views put much more detail on your screen Vs the traditional views. To do this, we had to make the fonts on some screens smaller. 2006 is not smaller than 2005. But, all websuites are smaller than Reflections.

What part is too smalll?
1. Transaction screen
2. Left panel statistics
3. Detail from clicking on a stat
4. Reports or financial statement

4 suggestions (worst to best)
1. Remain on Elite view. This will leave your screens to what you had before websuite. The trade-off is not having access to the new data-rich screens.

2. Change screen resolution from 1024x768 to 800x600. You'll get a bigger screen, but you'll only see 3/4 of the screen. You'll continually have to use your mouse to slide your screen up/down & left/right.

3. Use explorer (big blue e icon) instead of weblauncher (web2005/6 icon). From the upper toolbar, choose view, then font size to larger. The trade-off here is losing the tabbed browser.

4. Get a bigger monitor. Minimally a 17 inch. I know this is an added cost to your store. But, monitor prices are dropping drastically, and a monitor can usually last a few PC upgrades at your workstation. You'll appreciate the bigger screen in non-ADP applications too.

I'll forward your suggestions - I'm on '05, so if '06 is the same, I'll be in good shape, since I use the WebSuite view over the Elite view almost exclusively (Except when I have to run CarInc reports - will I still have to go to Elite for this with the '06 version?)
Thanks for the info!

We're doing everthing we can to eliminate the need for old reflections.

2006 uses the menu tree for car-ink routines.

For car-ink, are you using reflections, or using the DMS CONNECTION button in websuite?

Depends on the report - if I want to export it to excel, I have to use reflections (RPX. But if I just want to run the report and have it print as-is, I must go from web-suite to elite view. It's my understanding that with the '06 upgrade, we won't need reflections to export to excel...yahoo! I've also wanted to use macros in websuite 05, but cannot. I understand that won't be a problem with the '06 upgrade, either....another yahoo!
