GMCSI & EDS troubles...

Postby aksales » Mon Apr 15, 2002 12:25 pm

Yup it is I Jason again with another problem/issue. Let's see... the problem started when our Service Manager noticed that in the GM CSI website (gmnacsi.com) some of our technicians/service advisors were only showing up with their SSN's. He checked with our GM rep, and the rep stated that all the service/sales employee info that they use for the CSI site comes from our WINS system, and to get with our DSP. OK no prob, I called in to Serviceline support to quickly fix the problem. Well Serviceline transferred me to Businessline. After again explaining the problem, I was assured that the DCS SSN tables in (DCS Setup / Installation Menu / Work With Social Security Number Table / winsclaimi or naodeliver) was not what I was looking for, but unfortunately could not tell me where to go. So last week I found something more in the GM CSI website that states Dealers are able to add or modify information for both Service and Sales employees via the Dealer Profile / Service Personnel table in WINS It is my understanding that I am getting conflicting reports from EDS and GMCSI, or am I just going at this the wrong way? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Jason, I am looking into this, but just to advise, I have never been aware that WINS is pulling this data from the DMS. I have however have been wrong in the past. Will update you as quickly as possible.

We have identified several other customers that are experiencing this same issue. We are working directly with both the WINS and GMCSI teams to understand if a change has occurred in the way in which their applications acquire technician and salesman information from the DMS system. As soon as the resolution to this issue is identified, I will post it on this forum.

Here are the steps that need to be performed to ensure Service/technician data propoerly loads out to the GMCSI site.

How to download Service Advisor/Technician names and social security numbers.

From Dealerline or DMS@NET Main Menu select GM Dealer Communications System, press ENTER.

Select option 6 DCS Administration Menu, press ENTER.

Select option 3 Setup/Installation, press ENTER.

Select option 7 Work With Social Security Tables, press ENTER.

Prompt F4 on Application and select WINSCLAIMI, press ENTER.
Add, Change, or Delete employee information. When completed press F21 for Table Refresh.

Exit to the Dealer Communications System Main Menu.

Select option 1 Work With DCS Applications, press ENTER.

Select each entry with a social security number and place an option 7 for Select for Transmit, press ENTER. This will change the status (located at the far right of the screen) from NE for New to SE for Select.

Exit to the Dealer Communications System Main Menu.

Select option 2 Merge Selections for Transmissions, press ENTER.

Once a Day Batch is selected or a poll is done, the status of the entries will change to TR for transmission.
