It's that time of the year again and I'm trying to get ready for inventory. We moved a lot of stuff around this year and both created and eliminated a bunch of bins and I want to make sure that there's not still parts listed in bins that no longer exist. I've found all the reports that check for no bin, or multiple bins, but I can't seem to come across one that basically just lists the amount of parts in all the bins instead of breaking them down into every part number. Does this report exist or does this even make sense?

I don't remember that report at all. I know you could get a bin denesity report on the old EDS system, but I don't recall a units and/or dollars per bin location report.

PARTSANGEL,

See if this helps;

PI, PHR, RUN, PH4 (BINS IN USE)

Been awhile since I've used it, but I think it does what you asked.

If you want to copy/paste into ENG - try this.

SORT PART-NO. BY BIN BREAK-ON BIN TOTAL P-U ID-SUPP DET-SUPP

Add LPTR to the end for line printer.

P-U will count 1 for every different part.
TOTAL O.H. TOTAL CUR.VAL will give you on-hand count and dollar value

***********
If you want to create an RPG
Choose PART-NO. file
At Selection (item 3) SORT BY BIN
At Output (item 4) BREAK-ON BIN and TOTAL P-U
At Options (item 5) SUPPRESS DETAIL and SUPPRESS ITEM-IDS

If this report shows a bin that you don't recognize you can go to PM, Batch, search for parts in the specific bin, then hit F2 to see a list of part numbers that qualified by your search criteria.

The following english statement will list all of the bins on your system. I use it every year before inventory to correct bin errors/bad bins.

LIST PART-NO. BY BIN BREAK-0N BIN ID-SUPP DET-SUPP SUPP LPTR

Go into RBB to print part numbers with bad bin numbers and PM to delete/change bin number.

Correction to above RPG

At Selection (item 3) SORT BY BIN
should say
At Sort Criteria (item 3) SORT BY BIN

Selection (item 2) does not have any criteria in this RPG.
