Hybrid Batteries

Postby Cosmo » Wed Nov 02, 2011 6:18 pm

I have some hybrid battery cores to return. I can't remember if I have to fill in the hazmat portion of the PC302. When I go to the DGIS web site, it does not list the hazard class, EX#, or the ERG#, like it does for any other hazmat part. Someone please set me straight. Thanks

Thenks for the reply Max. I have a copy of that bullitin, but it only outlines the packing instructions. The question I have is filling out the 302. Do I fill it out like any other return or do I have to fill out the hazmat portion? Thanks again.

Make sure they are in the original package. All haz-mat info should be stamped on the box. Transfer all info to pc302 and make sure you include the weight at the bottom in "kilos"

fill out the pc302 as follows: this is assuming quantity 1 of the 20960900, adjust as necessary.

number of pieces:1

UN Number: UN2800

Product Description (write exact): Batteries, Wet, Non-spillable.

hazard class: 8

package group: roman number 3 = III

weight in KG: 18.2

DOT EX & SP information: leave blank

ERG number: 154

fill out the bottom of that table with total pieces and total hazmat weight. Sign and put the 24 emergency number (800) 535 5053

fill out the bottom as you normally do.

Thanks guys!! 007 that is just what I was looking for. The hazard class, DOT EX & SP, and ERG is what I was having the most trouble with. The source that I normaly use for that info did not have that for this pt#.
Thanks again every body.

reviving an old thread here - got my first hybrid battery and want to be prepared ahead of time to either send it back to WPC or do a core return.

First block I've run into is searching the new Global for old bulletins. I tried searching for cca10-098 and came up empty.

The battery in question here is 19180442

thanks

edit - I found the old bulletin but that only refers to 20960900 with a $300 core charge. Mine has a $1000 core charge

My answer for your battery will be the same as the above post, by Parts007 » November 3rd, 2011, 7:04 am, weight is 39.6 lbs and converts to 18kg. Obviously use the same container and packaging with hazard decals exposed.
