Here is the criteria for it.

YRSL = 0 (zero)
O.H. = >O
MNS = <=12

Try this English Statement:

LIST PART-NO. BREAK-ON SO PTNO DESC BIN O.H.
COST ABCD YRSL MNS SS TOTAL OH.VALUE WITH
YRSL EQ "0" AND WITH O.H. GE "1" AND WITH
MNS LE "12" AND WITH P-U BY SO BY PTNO ID-SUPP

USE A (P) AFTER SUPP TO SEND IT TO THE PRINTER
USE A (N) TO NOPAGE ON YOUR SCREEN

This should do it for you. If you have any other questions or problems please feel free to call me at (800) 825-7562.

In New parts no sales in the ADP system there are three criteria that must be met for a number to be in this category. First and formost, a number can only enter the category at the addition of the number to the system. The criteria are:
Entry date <12 months
YRSL = '0'
O.H. > '0'

It has been difficult for ADP to come up with an english language statement for this since it covers three variables, including entry date. Keep bugging them and they will fix the glitch. Other wise it take an ADP customer service rep, who knows their way around the system, to come up with this report. Makes no sense, but that is my experience since this category entered the software in 1973.

An easy way to make sure you do not include numbers that have been on the system for more than 12 months, is to include
WITH MNS LT "13". To be very safe, also include "WITH PRYRS LT "1".

Here is a statement I use:
SORT PART-NO. WITH P-U AND WITH MNS LT "13" AND WITH YRSL LT "1" AND WITH PRYRS LT "1"
AND WITH O.H. GT "0" BY-DSND MNS BREAK-ON MNS TOTAL OH.VALUE ID-SUPP DET-SUPP

This will generate a report like this:
MNS VALUE..

12 33.52
11 92.13
10 8.04
9 49.23
8 151.64
7 1679.46
6 1500.45
5 860.10
4 475.23
3 1905.17
2 1534.24
1 1380.64
0 2419.24
13.54

12102.63

Do not include ID-SUPP DET-SUPP if you wish to see the actual part numbers. In that case,
you may wish to add fields like BIN DESC etc.

The summary report graphs very well in Excel as a 3D area graph, but do not use BY-DSND MNS, rather BY MNS.

If you are have a discrepancy between MGR and this statement, make sure you run the statement immediately after MGR, before any sales (which may be one of those numbers.)

One last note - if you want a wider space between the MNS and the OH.VALUE,
insert EMPTY-SPC. EMPTY-SPC is a new
dictionary item ADP has added. It is available on all logons and all files.
Also available is LAST-UPDT, which shows the day the item was last updated.

Thanks Ted. It proves there is more than one way to bake a cake. I do have one question for you.

I just logged into a dozen of our ADP systems and none of them have the EMPTY-SPC dict item added yet. Is this a new release that has to be loaded or is it still coming out as we speak???

Thank You,

I also noticed that we don't have the 'EMPTY-SPC' item on our system. However here is a simple DICT item that we created for the same purpose, we call SP1 (or SP2 for two empty spaces).

ED DICT PART-NO. SP1

001 A
002 999
003
004
005
006
007
008
009 R
010 1

For the 'SP2' dict item, change the value in attribute '010' to '2'. If no one at your dealership has editor prividges, just ask ADP to create it for you.

Another helpful suggestion might be to add 'TOTAL #ITEMS' to the output of Teds' statement. This will give you the amount of part numbers in each catagory, in addition to the total cost.

The two new dict items were included on the
PS950 release. I believe they may have been on PS942, but loaded with a patch update.
If you do not have PRO, it will definitely not be on your system. Your system administrator can check the software level.

If you create the Dictionary item Rick mentioned, you may wish to create it MD instead. (Master Dictionary.)
Then it will be available to all files on
your parts logon.

The new dictionary items were actually carried on a system release, 720B.
However, they can be requested on earlier versions.
