Sales People!

Postby General Marty » Mon Jan 08, 2007 11:03 am

So I get in this morning to learn that a newer salesperson sold a SUV over the weekend for a price that would cost me $4000. So I have to let the customer, who has had the vehicle for 2 days now, know that he needs to return it to the dealership or agree to pay 550 a month instead of the 327 a month that my salesman told him. I will take care of the salesperson, but any ideas of how to soften the blow to this future irrate customer?

There is no way to soften the blow to the customer-if this customer is signed, sealed and delivered....you're out $4000.
Chalk it up to the cost of putting new salespeople on the floor(where were managers??).

The guy to hold responsible is the manager that signed off on the deal.

I am in a highly competitive market, and while I of course don't want to lose 4G's, I also don't want a guy that was interested in my product to go away angry and buy from the competiton, or even worse than that, write a letter or something to the paper telling how my guys screwed him.

Marty, this past summer my wife and myself were out shopping for 5th wheel trailer's,
we found a slightly used one for a great price, i mean great i asked several times if he was sure, we sat down did a buy sell agreement, came in the next morning with a cashier check, hooked it to my truck and left. 2 days later sales manager from RV place called and asked if i could stop by,
short story wanted $10,000 more than what i paid gave him my RD108, he shook my hand and said have a good day. Now i knew it was to good to be true i asked if we could cut a deal his reply was no, his final comment was salesman gets charged back, and i dont bad mouth them for making me pay more. I send every one there, they honor their word

10,000 dollars different in price, i kinda thought something was wrong and asked twice there company honored the price.
RD108 is the copy of reciet that goes to secretary of state for registration not every one calls it that how about "buyers order"

The RD108 is the instrument used in the State of Michigan to transfer title to the new owner of the vehicle. Once it is stamped at the secretary of state the dealer has no legal recourse to collect any more money. Also once the RD108 is signed by the customer the dealer must have it stamped by the secretary of state in no more than 15 days. If the dealer fails to present the document in the time frame points are assessed against his dealer's license.

I got the guy to bring the car back and return it, he was not happy, gave us the "never gonna buy from here again," tyrade, and he went on his way. the salesman has been dealt with and that's that.
