Extended warranties

Extended warranties

here is what i have every customer sign prior to dealing with their aftermarket company policy. it is a hassle dealing with the substitute non-company adjusters. we just let the customer know this is the case up-front so that we remain the "good guys". i think the time spent playing phone tag is worth it if it the job pays more than a couple hours of labor time. some of what we do is just goodwill toward a view of a possible sale in the future or retention of the customer after the contract expires.

here is my sign-off form:

We have prepared this document in an effort to achieve more effective communication and mutual understanding concerning our involvement with your non-General Motors mechanical insurance, (sometimes referred to as a service contract, or extended warranty). If you do not fully understand or agree, please speak with the service manager before you sign below.

Not all mechanical insurance providers utilize or accept standard industry labor time guides and procedures, or the cost and use of General Motors parts in the performance of repairs. Some mechanical insurance providers ask us to compromise. At Kool Chevrolet, we have chosen to uphold a standard that assures our clientele (or any prospective clientele), of quality, dependability and excellent warranty. In order to accomplish this, we can not install used parts or parts from an outside provider, regardless of whether you or your mechanical insurance may request otherwise. We believe our pricing and policies to be fair, reasonable, up-front, and competitive with other repair facilities providing the same level of service.

Because it is not possible to be thoroughly familiar with each and every mechanical insurance plan, we can not take responsibility for any lack of communication, miscommunication, or misinterpretation of what your insurance will, or will not do for you. Your policy is a contract between you and your insurer. Although we can help you with many of your concerns, the service staff at Kool Chevrolet is not in a position to mediate disputes between a vehicle owner and their mechanical insurance provider.

Before we begin the repair process, we want you to understand that your mechanical insurance, due to plan limitations or other factors, may not fully reimburse you for what we provide.

0ur main focus is the relationship we have with you, our valued customer! We promise to keep you apprised of any proposed changes to the initial estimate, and as involved in the repair process as you desire.

Full payment in the form of cash, approved check, or credit card is expected at the time services are complete and prior to the release of your vehicle.

Any variance to this policy must be granted in writing from the service management staff at Kool Chevrolet.

My signature below acknowledges that I have read and understand the above written policy and have received a copy.

we have found this to be most effective in forcing steps toward better communication.
