We don't use outlook as our appointment log but we do use the calender as a route sheet. Each advisor has their own calender and is shared to the dispatcher. We use Office XP which allows color coding. Between the dispatcher and the advisor, they keep the ticket updated all day uncluding any comments. Our next step is to allow techs (we are on Reynolds Electronic RO) to access and update. You could import your customer data base into a seperate address book in outlook and then make the appointments with the above scenario but you would still need your DMS (ADP or Rey, etc) for obvious history, opcodes, etc.
Advisors really like this electronic route sheet as anyone can display detailed info. from any terminal. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. It is a little more detailed to set up.
Thanks
