The slight majority of shops I have visited are up about 5% this year so far. But it also totally depends on the franchise. I know of two stores right next to each other, one a Ford and the other is VW. The Ford store is down about 10% and the VW store is up 15% ... so that is a 25% swing in the same area just based off of franchise.

One thing I keep hearing is that repair work is up at the expense of maintenance repairs. People are just delaying coming into the dealership until they have to.

I second that about franchises- Our VW store is up dramatically (doubling last year), our Volvo store is up 30% and our Jeep/Chrysler store is fighting to break even.

Business is good in Southern California, most Toyota stores are doing well, our Toyota store is up 30% in CP labor while our Ford/Mazda/Kia service dept. is up about 15% over last year.
