I agree the cashiering is an office function to be supervised by the account office. Dealing with customers and improving CSI should be of concern to everyone in the dealership, including accounting. I also agree that there needs to be input and supervision from the service manager. There are also other considerations. Is the cashier a service cashier? Does the cashier have other duties like picking up excess phone traffic, data input for the accounting office, service filing, office filing? Are vehicle deposits received through the cashier? Where is the cashier located, in service, in the accounting office?
