A quick net search for dealer closings in the news brings up dozens of hits from all over the country.

What is happening in your area?

What is the general "mood"?

Tom,

There are a few here in the Los Angeles area. A PBG store in Glendale, CA... Cadillac in LA (selective close by Sonic Auto, however), Ford stores here and there and more that a few Chrysler/Dodge. San Diego area same thing.

I would imagine many are taking this route as last resort as deals to sell the stores are falling through.

However, as with the case of domestic stores, there has been too many. Lexus, BMW and Mercedes stores seem to be doing OK.

Bay Area(SF) is seeing quite a few closings, mostly domestics, I am afraid this will get worse before it gets better. The domestic dealers are not surprising given the size of the dealer body.Seems like the early 1980's ,we will probably lose 1/2 the dealers before we hit bottom. I only know of Honda/ Toyota stores doing o.k. right now and even we are tightening our seat belts and preparing for a emergency landing.I hope that anyone affected by this will land safely.
