We are a DSP and several of our Saturn customers have asked that we extract the pertinent information from their DMS to save them from duplicate entry.

We looked at Executive Assistant but this has shown to be too slow for our needs.

I suspect this is not a new problem and hopeful to hear other's experiences.

The Centralized Saturn Retail System has multiple ways in which to extract data. In terms of the best approach, it depends upon what data you are trying to extract and for what purpose.

The data of interest is captured during the F&I process. Typical data elements are: OwnerNames/Buyers, their Address, DOB, Driver License, VIN, Sales Price, etc. The extraction automation requires entry of a DealID or Stock Number and then the system requests a data extraction of the latest Deal information. Because this automation is triggered interactively by a User supports, the response times need be fast, i.e. <= 5 seconds. Finally, the best solution need only require that this automation can communicate to the DMS with standard user permission.

Another way to consider the options are, if you were a standard EDS DMS user, what would you need to have to access to this type of information and have it returned in predictable format to your screen or file and with fast response times.
