I remember when I was young and eager to learn, I couldn't get enough. "Sure boss, I'll work late, Sure boss, I'll work through lunch" A tech gave me advice to get out of this business and get a job with the town or state, "put in 20 years and retire wit a pension kid, this business sucks" I replied "No WAY, I LOVE THIS JOB!!"
That was 17 years ago, Me and that Tech are still here, we both have the same attitude towards the business now. I was a stupid, stupid kid.
Only 30 more years until I'm ELIGIBLE to retire. Not that I will be able to afford to though. If I'm lucky I'll die carrying a hood up to the 2nd floor
(RANT ALERT) Oh, I don't have that kind of an attitude, and I know of working for the city, I have friends in the city fleet management, the only problem is my inexperience, currently the reason I'm leaving this dealership is the amount of disrespect i have received as off late from all other departments besides parts, and due to the fact that I have been here 3 years, and have not received a pay increase, nor have I been included within the bonuses pool among the parts counter person staff, I have asked, numerous times, and the manager keeps saying not yet, my work pace is solid, I "had" good report with most of the technicians, I always went above and beyond for customers, and I usually did not fuck up, sometimes I do believe it too me my age to be the primary factor in this conversation, but I'm tired of this, that, and the other thing, and time to move on from my first dealer
