Check your credit invoices for RIM returns generated in August 2014. The RIM discount changed from 2% to 1% effective April 1, 2013. August represents the first month that RIM returns should only deduct a 1% discount - no longer should they deduct a 2% discount.
As you know RIM returns look for 15+ months MNS. So RIM returns generated in August should contain the first parts ordered under the new 1% discount.
THIS IS NOT HAPPENING.
Our parts manager, smart guy, caught that each and every part had a 2% discount deducted. THIS IS NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE 2% HOLD PREMIUM. That is something entirely different and separate. So far RIM, Invoicing and DMA unaware of this issue.
I had a very interesting conversation with a GM employee earlier today about this. It seems that this very subject may have been discussed by management at some time in the past. If this person remembers correctly there may have been a decision to leave the system programmed this way. This person was not sure and told me they would contact me if changes were to be made.
I want to know how many other Dealer's August generated RIM returns had 2% deducted.
