Recall 14299,14350, and 14172

Postby BOB 1964 » Wed Oct 08, 2014 9:31 pm

Needing more of the Loctite 426 adhesive used in these recalls. Ordered from Exodus Direct as stated in the bulletins on September 30. Still haven't received any product as of today. Called Exodus and they stated it may be a couple of weeks or so before I receive any product. Has any one here had any luck obtaining this anywhere else. I finally received an ample amount of rings and inserts now I cant get the adhesive. Gotta love it!

The implication that you intend to service your customer in a reasonable amount of time is an insult to the GM Gurus at the recall division. They have made EVERY effort to lay the blame of ALL delays directly on the Dealer and your best attempts to circumvent the situation will only lead you to frustration and failure. I truely recomend that you post ALL anserbacks and comunication on your public bulletin board along with several Factory phone numbers so that the customer can grasp the reality of what "customer service" actually means to GM.
(No wonder GM thinks I'm an a$$, they are probably correct)

I have said this from the first day if the public only knew the crap we have to go through. But then again lately most customers I have dealt with would only say "thats not my problem ,fix my car"

I have gone to my body shop manager and had him order the 3M products through his normal supplier. I am sure it depends on who his supplier is as to whether he will try to get them.

I had ordered 3 tubes of the adhesive from Exodusdirect about 5 weeks ago, wasn't told it was on backorder at the time. I didn;t get it after a week and I called them and I was told oh it is on backorder although we have plenty of stock GM is not allowing them to ship it to us until all the GM orders are filled. What a bunch of crap really, now they are running another business. I am not sure that they can actually get away with it, but how do you fight back without investing alot of time and money. We know we don;t have the time since we have to order 24 key inserts at a time and checking RIM to make sure they don;t send us ignition switch kits and all the other happy horse crap. We certainly aren't going to waste our money fighting it either so I guess we just deal with it. That Great GM Feeling keeps getting better and better.

I have received that kind of response from customers before (unfortunately) and the only reply we can give is:
"I would LOVE to fix your car in as much as that IS how we make a living. Sadly it is your problem and ours in as much as the constraints put on us by GM will not provide us with the product to do the repair at this time. I would even like to tell you the other Dealer down the street can get it completed for you but he just called me yesterday asking if I had any luck in getting information on the product."
A sad state of affairs when you can NOT get the product needed to satisfy the customer, especially when GM has basicly nailed us down to "you will buy from GM, you will buy under this program, and you will sell under this program" given the fact that the bafoons at GM can NOT even run the program. They have dumped so much time and effort into running the Dealers business that they can NOT even run their own. Top it off with the fact that WE have to pay for it in reduced discounts and allowances.
Egotistical, self indulgent, greedy scum run amuck with a college education and the "common" sense of a worm!

"GM customer service" called me yesterday. We have Mr SO&SO on the line with us, can you tell him why you refuse to order his recall parts for 14299?. I said because YOU won't ship me any. I order the amount I need to do the recall for Mr SO&SO and the other 300 that have called in the last 72 hours, and you idiots cancel my order! So why don't YOU explain THAT to MY customer? Imagine my surprise when they hung up on me!!! :?

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really, really hope Mr SO&SO was on the line with you when that went down!!!! I would be willing to bet Peggy stammered and stumbled all while getting a "manager" to see if they "could further assist" Mr SO&SO. I have to leave now, I think I just wet myself!!!!

This may have been mentioned somewhere before, but Exodus Direct has set up a website to order these items. It is strictly the items used for the recalls. oemhelper dot com. (site wont let me post url) First you have to register, and you can pay with credit card or pay pal. And yes the loctite products will backorder, but they are filling BOs in the order placed.

Registered online with Exodus on 9-30-14 and ordered product then. They billed our company credit card and have no ETA on when it will ship. Looks like they are the only one to handle this product.
