MITSUBISHI PARTS QUESTION

MITSUBISHI PARTS QUESTION

Postby cville1987 » Wed Oct 08, 2014 1:20 pm

How does their catalog work? Do they use group numbers like GM or is it all in the part number like Ford and Nissan? We just got a Mitsu store and I'm trying to help the guys out.

We use the illustration. It's much faster. You can search by name also. It is best to use the VIN whenever possible unless you are a Mitsu guru.

Sorry it took forever.
But Mitsubishi at it's very best, sucks.
There is no rhyme or reason to the part #'s just slap a # on it and go. As for looking up parts, you just about have to have a VIN or at least the last 8.
There is a model conversion chart that can be found in the library of Dealer Link. You can also use a generic search in CAPS but then you get generic results. With Mits, that's not always a good thing. The bad thing about CAPS, no supersession's, no TSB's no pricing and just a PIA to use.
On top of all of that, Mitsubishi act's like it's the greatest thing in the world so they secure their catalog with a HASP. Don't know why, must be a Japanese thing.
Any way, they have basic groups, then they break down into sub groups. Sometimes what you are looking for isn't where you would think it would be. Actually a lot of times it's that way. But after awhile you get used to it. It's a lot of trial & error.

Can you source parts using the part number or group like we do in GM? That's the biggest thing right now, is there a reasonably easy way to source parts using the DMS? Reynolds in this case.
