Average parts profit per RO?

Average parts profit per RO?

Does anyone care to share what their average parts profit per RO is? Ours is pretty disgusting with all the key recalls and free oil changes and recall bolts

It's embarassing so I'm not ready to share ours until I see a few others :)

On the Financial and after the split, we're at 39% on Car Repair Orders written ; 41% on Truck Repairs Y-T-D.

Overall Parts % is at 31.

I was looking for a dollar figure average per repair order. Divide number of ROs by the profit.

Ours averaged $19 and change per RO for March and I found it somewhat disgusting.

If I exclude all the RO's with no parts gross like new PDI, details, etc mine is $48.97, if I don't it's $35.73.

is someone from outside the parts dept playing with the parts pricing? i know of a service manager that had access to the parts on RO's and he was making ajustments to the parts pricing sale price and cost and adding the difference to the labor.

I think most of it was the key recalls with 72 cents profit and free maintenance oil changes at 10% profit - ($2-$3 each) that bring the #s down. And of course, a complete lack of decent customer repair work.

We did have a pretty rough winter here and that didn't help much. We seem busy enough but the #s say otherwise.

I don't think the service advisors or manager are pulling anything tricky.

We bill everything out like we do on CP oil changes and the warranty clerk puts the difference to advertising. Gross isn't affected but net is. That helps keep our numbers higher.
