lock cylinder 89024857 no instructions

Postby Parts007 » Tue Sep 15, 2015 6:17 pm

Anyone code one of these ignition cylinders recently.. Comes with no instructions, so I didn't know which tumbler to omit. figured it out after trial and error.

BUT. I can't figure out how the bar is held down and retained.

ANYONE code one recently? part has no instructions, SI has none, parttech has none, TAC has none.....

Not the same kit, but this happened to me with another kit number. Finally found it in SI if you build the car and go to ignition replacement there is a link for the cylinder.

Nothing in SI, I called Parttech, they told me to call TAC...so I did, nothing..

Fits an 2001 Park ave. ignition

The difference with this cylinder, you have to install the Bar and somehow secure it with the two retainers provided. Unlike any other of the hundreds of cylinders I've done (I did 5 in the last two days). I staked the heck out of them and sent it on its way. Hoping for the best.

Built the car in SI then clicked service manual, then search ignition, then click on ignition key cannot be removed from the lock cylinder, step 5 there is a link to coding the cylinder

Great find, and yes I saw that... This cylinder has something very unique to it, with the bar coming separate. Not listed on any generic directions
