AutoMate counterman sales question

AutoMate counterman sales question

Postby B964 » Wed Sep 30, 2015 1:10 pm

Anyone know how AutoMate tracks counterman parts sales?

Question is... does the salesman recap record who ordered a part or who received/completed the SOP transaction?

When looking at counterman recap report I see transactions and dollar values. A certain salesman show higher dollar than than expected.
Looking at audit transactions said person show RO sales for a particular special ordered number that is known to almost never have sold but he is the one that receives and completes the SOP transaction.

I believe it is the person who ordered the part. (not 100% sure)

The sale will go to the counter person # who actually sells the part on the invoice or RO.
Example: Employee #14 orders the part; Employee #67 charges part out on RO 2 weeks later...#67 shows as parts salesperson on report.

That's what it looks like it does. Doesn't really make sense but that explains how someone who avoids phones and counter has decent sales. I thought maybe he was deleting and rebilling parts to boost numbers. Also explains why someone who does as little as possible volunteers to receive the SOP's.

That would make sense but if it's the type of employee that I'm thinking of would they even realize that it would show up on the report the way that it does?

^^ Yes and no. He may have stumbled on to it, or just that receiving keeps you away from customers for a half hour a day.

Adding up warranty parts sales in transaction audit compared to warranty parts sales in counterman sales recap it now looks like recap records who ordered part not who finalized the SOP to RO.
I do see some RO parts sales reversals and rebills but not many. Leads me to believe someone is gaming the system but to lazy to do it a lot.

I apologize. I just had my daily meeting with my guys and I asked them to confirm and I was incorrect yesterday...
The sale goes to the person that originally ordered the part not the person that charged it out.
So the only way your S&R person could do what he's doing is to cancel the SOR in #17 then just sell it with his employee # so there is no history of the original SOR and the person that ordered it would not receive credit for the transaction... :o
