In-Outs and receipts

In-Outs and receipts

Postby robc » Sat Feb 20, 2016 2:40 am

Today's great debate is whether in CDK, in-outs are also recorded as a sale and receipt on the MGR report. I have various proof they are not, but the parts manager helps say when you use IO it "Receipts an emergency purchase part as you sell it. The current on-hand quantity is not checked or adjusted. You are selling what you receipt." Yet on the MGR there were no emergency purchase receipts shown. Has anyone ever proved out if IOs are counted on the MGR?

Rob,

I haven't proved it either way, however, according to ADP/CDK documentation, it would appear that what the parts managers forum is suggesting is true. It doesn't check inventory, just sells what you receipted and records it as an emergency purchase. From the ADP online help guide:
"An emergency purchase (also called I/O for in/out) is a part purchased by the dealership without a replenishment order.
The emergency part is sold in function I or PRO using the IO override code in the Quantity field, which receipts the part at the same time it is sold.
Emergency purchases are only allowed when the IO Override option is selected in OSOP."

Not sure why it wouldn't show up on the MGR report. I would be curious to know more if you find out something. I suspect it's like some of the other things that work intermittently but is rather important information.
