The Bulletin explicitly asks dealers NOT to order these parts for shelf stock. I was a good soldier and followed orders. How stupid of me, you'd think after 40 years of doing this I would know better. I made copies of the bulletin with the parts line highlighted and gave it to our service writers. We're just ordering them as needed.

I guess the General thinks it's better customer service to have a customer make two trips to the dealer instead of one.

we have been ordering them for customers as we need them. almost all of our customers have called in and said that they've gotten the notice in the mail. or they've already been here for service, oil change or so on.

our customers are pretty easy going, and have a pretty good rapport with our service department.

i'm still amazed, you think gm would have thought this out better and made sure they had enough parts ahead of time.

THEY CANCELED MY 12132229 ORDER. THEY CAN'T FILL IT SO SCREW IT, CANCEL THE ORDER AND THEREFORE ELIMINATE THE NEED.. GREAT SOLUTION!
