I believe the purchase must be made from a legitimate GM franchised dealer to be covered by a GM dealer.

Go ahead and put any part number into the Amazon site. I put 19299342 SRTA Transmission. Yep it's there.

If you copy and paste this link add the DOT before the com
http://www.amazonDOT com/Genuine-GM-Reman-Transmission-Part/dp/B00TA7TAS2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1460637565&sr=8-1&keywords=19299342

Can someone that has a account ask. 1) what is the warranty? 2) will they ship to a house address 3) If I have a problem will my local dealership fix it under warranty? 4) Is there a core charge and if yes how do I return it to get my money back.

It's my understanding that they have their own BAC (Delco selling on amazon). So technically it is a part from a "dealer" and would be covered. I could be wrong though.

Now let me throw a monkey wrench into the discussion. What about Jegs performance parts, they sell GM Engines, I had a customer come in who bought an engine from them, it had to be warrantied and THEY told him to go to any GM dealer and they would warranty it. It also says on their website concerning warranties any GM Dealer will handle the warranty on their product. If I follow the P&P we don't do it.. Jegs says we do. This customer is going around in circles right now with my GM saying we are responsible and all the paperwork (P&P) says we aren't... Jeez

"Ships from and sold by GMPartsNow."
Technically, this is not Amazon selling this part. It is GMPartsNow selling thru Amazon's site. It's like selling on eBay. GMPartsNow dot com is Berger Chevrolet in Grand Rapids MI.

Now, don't get me wrong. There are a lot of parts on there that are shipped and sold by Amazon. Here's one:
http://www.amazon DOT com/ACDelco-15037353-Equipment-Automatic-Transmission/dp/B0013G040G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1460638431&sr=8-1&keywords=15037353
They sell it for $49.56 with free shipping. GM dealer cost is $57.83. :(
Someone tell me how we are supposed to compete with that?

Always remember, at anytime, the customer can call GM Customer Assistance and get the answer the customer wants on any question.

Example: (Mr. Customer) I have a GM starter and the dealer won't replace it under warranty. (GM) Rest assured the dealer is wrong and we will tell them so. (At least that is what Mr. Customer hears.)

This cuts us off at the knees and makes it hard as h e double hockey sticks to convince the, now well informed, customer of anything.

Just my 2 cents worth......

ehiatt was right, they are just a dealer selling on Amazon...just like many do on eBay. Nevertheless, here's the response I received:

Q. What is the warranty on this transmission?
A. The warranty is 3 years 100,000 miles parts and labor.

Q. If there is an issue with this transmission, can my local dealer fix it under warranty?
A. The warranty is good at any GM dealership in the country.

Q. Is there a core charge for this transmission?
A. The core charge is $700. You would be responsible for the return shipping on the core.

Q. Will you ship this transmission to my home?
A. The transmission could be shipped to your home or mechanic's shop if you would like.

I would think that if the invoice they get would have to show that it is from a GM dealer for any of us to warranty said part. right??
