GM WHEELS-WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

GM WHEELS-WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Postby mdishong » Wed Jun 01, 2016 3:50 pm

I ORDERED 4 OF 23444101 WHEEL KIT. CATALOG SAYS 1 FOR 1. ORDER 4 IF YOU NEED 4. NUMBER CHANGES TO 84020558. WE GOT 8!
CALLED SPAC TO TELL THEM THEY HAVE A BAD NUMBER CHANGE. "NO, IT'S CORRECT, YOU GET 8 IF YOU ORDER 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, OR 8!"
WHY! WHY? WHY! WHY? DO IT GET 8 WHEELS? "IF YOU WANT SINGLE WHEELS, CALL YOUR ADI". THERE IS 0 LOGIC HERE.

OH, NO NOTES IN CATALOG. NO NOTES IN DMS. CHECKED GLOBEL:
PART NUMBER 23444101 WHEEL KIT, IS A VALID NUMBER. WILL BE REPLACED BY 84020558 WHEN STOCK IS EXHAUSTED. ALSO. 23444101 IS A MINIMUM BUY QUANTITY 8. FOR A SINGLE WHEEL. CONTACT YOUR LOCAL A.D.I. TO SEE IF ONE IS AVAILABLE

IT IS GETTING TO THE POINT, WE HAVE TO CHECK EVERY PART # GM SELL IN GLOBEL BEFORE WE CAN SELL IT!

GM doesn't want us buying any accessories from them directly. Always call the ADI. I've got 8 wheels sitting around here too.

And, if you sell just 1 of those wheels, guess what..........................
You can't return less than 8.

Try and tell that to a retail or wholesale CUSTOMER that they MUST BUY 8 wheels, even though they only need one.
See how that goes over with a REAL customer.

The ADI's (hint: all owned by mega dealers like Hendrick) have set up most of the accessories with these unit packs most of which are pallet quantities, see 22805440 pk qty. 9.
That way if you want in the business, you gotta buy from them. Or have a big warehouse, and if your that big, you're prolly an ADI already!

I feel your pain.
We ordered 2 20984708 front wheels and 2 19302858 rear wheels for a Camaro. GM said the 20984708 changed to a 19302857 and (thankfully) backordered them (even though they showed stock). They shipped 8 of the 19302858's. So our guy got 2 19302857's from ADI so now I'm stuck with only 6 rears.

I would at least attempt a 'Shipped in Error' exception with an explanation something along the lines of 'Minimum order qty changed upon supersession.' It's worth a try. I've found that very creative wording can often get the job done. Not always.

Sometimes it is also helpful to contact SPAC and go over the scenario, while obtaining a Service Request number to add to exception notes for added effectiveness in getting claim accepted.

What ya got to lose?

I got burned with the same situation a couple of years ago and my DMA called my PDC to get shipped in error return tags sent to me and I returned them without affecting return reserve. It's worth a shot...

I just got bit on this too. Ordered the 5 spoke 20" HD wheel last week. I ordered one because I need one. Global said minimum purchase of one when I checked right before I ordered ONE wheel.

I got EIGHT wheels. Was wonderful thing to explain that one.... this is getting to be ridiculous

Sounds to me like you got 7 damaged wheels. I'd be mad about having to file that claim
