Worst Catalog ever- SNAP ON

Worst Catalog ever- SNAP ON

Postby LOWAIRD1964 » Mon Aug 08, 2016 3:40 pm

I am a gm dealer, I have been in the business for about 15 years now and this "new" great GM snap on catalog SUCKS! Does anyone else hate it or is it just me?
I doesn't filter anything out therefore making it slower for us on top of being a really, really, sloooooow system to begin with. I don't know if I just got spoiled with our old catalog or what. Instead of going forward and making it faster, and easier to search I feel we went backwards about 10 years. Sorry about more rant but I just had to vent a little!

It seems each new edition of the catalog is worse than the past, but I can't say I've really had too many issues with filtering?

I think the catalog itself is ok, the problem is the updates and search function running slow. Very slow.

We run a server that feeds 5 clients and the search function is super slow. They need to change the search function so it only looks for the part name and not the every time it appears in the description. I called my sales rep from Snap-Off and left him a message complaining about paying $950 a month for a catalog that killing my guys productivity. He never called me back.

EPC OverEngineering Morons. Just like the folks that brought you REAM, GlobalDisConnect, PartsDoesn'tWorkBench, SameDayWTFAdjuster, MyPriceIsNotLinked, and 1BadStore.
If they worked for My department, my General Manager would fire ME.

Like I said in previous posts related to the EPC. Who the hell piloted this and said it was good never worked with the old blue screen.

The main reason for its slowness is the point and click.. I only worked with old blue for like 4 months before I got switched over to the abomination we have now. Point and click is slow on everything, (being a dinosaur that I am I remember when the www was not graphical and was faster then doing everything then it is now) how many ADP Websuite users use the graphical interface? I didn't when I ran it, I went to the old system on it, it was much faster and was keystroke oriented. Anything graphical and point and click, will be slower and more useless for the fast paced world we live in in the Parts Dept.

Thanks for the "thinking" clock. Now, can we get the Global notes to show up in the catalog? Look up a part (no notes), Order part, sell the part....Tech, this isn't right. Go into Global, NOTE: this part needs part # XXXXXXXX to work. Is it that hard? Is it too much to ask (for the $$$)?
