SNAP ON CONTRACT UP THIS YEAR

SNAP ON CONTRACT UP THIS YEAR

Postby preston705 » Tue Jan 10, 2017 6:15 pm

So my snap on contract is up this year and I was wondering if any one is just using the EPC on GM Global? If so do you still need Snap On server? How many PC's are you running off of it? What issues if any have you run into?

Thanks for your input

I use the the global connect link only on 5 Pcs but you can run as many as you have a license for. You do not need a server unless you want to use one as long as your equipment meets the requirements from Snap On. The bigger the better. I still have the local version on each PC as a backup. It is much easer to manage with the updates now on jump drives. I replaced all my PCs with new Dells running windows 7. The old PCs I was leasing from Snap On were to unreliable. You still have to pay for the license from Snap On. The online version is much faster and you can enlarge it for people with bad eyes like me. You can do everything with the online that you did with the server including integration to d2d and your dms.

So you still need to have the license from Snap-on. Are they still as costly?

We renewed ours last fall. It wasn't much more to just replace all the PC's and server. It's a five year contract and with four licenses, server, and all "new" computers it came out to $680 a month. We had the labor quoting option for a few months, but disabled it. We negotiated for a few months before signing a five year.
