Sprinting old #'s

Sprinting old #'s

Is it OK for a dealership to sprint an Old part #, for a New #? I ordered 22922659 but received 22914946.

Is there a way to return the old # back to GM & get the correct part #?

Most DMSs have a way to receipt the new part number while still having stock of the old part number. Therefore showing stock available by both part numbers. So I have to wonder how this sort of thing happens? I would call them and ask if it is O.K. to send them the old part number, they may just need it bad enough to be O.K. with it. (Also; how frustrating is it when a dealer accepts a SPRINT only to find out they don't have the part at all, and fail to call SPAC to report it??!!)

As long as the Sprinting dealer calls me and I know I'm getting an old part #, I'm ok with it, UNLESS there is a design change that improves the part- then I'm not. Most of the time a PNC is a vendor change, not an improvement.

Selling Dealers are supposed to inform the Buying dealers they are getting the old part # from my understanding.

Most the time my only problem is the price differences. Dealer gets 15% over on the new number which usually comes out to 25% over the old part number.
