GM Dexos2 Motor Oil

GM Dexos2 Motor Oil

Postby checkme » Fri Jan 27, 2017 4:25 pm

The new Canyon and Colorado 2.8L diesel oil specification calls for Dexos2 5W30. I don't see that the Dexos2 oil is available yet. Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks

I haven't ordered any in a bit, but I was able to get it through GM on DRO/Stock no issues, the 88865157.

Can anyone help me with the part # for Dexos 5w20 oil? Can't seem to find it in the oil list.

There is no more Dexos 5W20...it has been replaced by Dexos 0W20. There was a bulletin a few years ago about it.

From SI bulletin #13-00-90-001....

Question: Can Service Agents stop using/selling other oil weights in lieu of dexos1™ 0W20 oil?

Answer: That’s an individual decision that GM Service Agents will need to make based on the vehicles they are servicing. GM Powertrain has approved the use of 0W20 oil for applications specifying 5W20 oil.
