At the request of our GM, we bought some StopLeak at an Advance Auto Parts and put it in his father-in-law's truck and has been holding for a week now. Not sure who's paying for that $29 bandaid or the tech's time and R134 - but for now it's ice cold.

Or whatever else the StopLeak decides to gum up so that you end up with another problem in the AC system.

I hope you are not treated like I was treated! I had to 2 condensers on back order since early May and the SM and GM decided that because the parts dept could not supply the parts for the customers vehicles that they would charge the a/c recharges labor and freon back to the parts dept as often as needed to keep the customers cool. To make matters worse I found aftermarket condensers and paid a premium for them and then I was told I would have to honor the parts pricing estimate given on the original repair estimate.I lost a lot of money on both transactions. This has been the biggest bunch of bullsht I have ever had to deal with and I was penalized for going the extra mile and doing my job to get the customers vehicles repaired.

Man, that's pretty messed up. Most of ours are warranty, so I'm just kind of a sitting duck. If they weren't warranty I've got 4 aftermarket ones in back, but I probably won't end up using

It's more than messed up. I believe it is against EPA regulations to re-charge and send a vehicle out with a known leak. You are supposed to evacuate the system if it can not be repaired. I find it hard to believe that someone from GM would even suggest doing that ! (Unless GM means General Manager)

Yes GM stands for General Manager in this case - he signs my checks so whatever he says do I USUALLY do.

last8please wrote:we did one today... the bad one we took out had a label of #23141869 which according to GM changes to #84243590. but if you look it up in the EPC, it shows replacement is # 84211191. nothing surprises me anymore.

I just checked availability of 84243590 and non exist at any PDC per Global Connect.

We've been waiting on a Condenser since 5/2 and customer already commented he hoped to receive a Survey. He is not a happy camper. He will be trading his GM product in for either a Ford or Dodge. Said he is finished with GM products.

Unfortunately, with the General nowadays, they consider a bad survey a reflection on YOUR dealership and not themselves, because the General is ALWAYS RIGHT!

I received a call from my AC Delco provider yesterday, they are negotiating with a supplier and want us to commit to buy 10 of them at 182, and they won't be available for 6-8 weeks. Seriously? This thing my have been blown over by 8 weeks and then I'd have 10 aftermarket condensers
