powertrain pricing wholesale

Curious to see what others are discounting transmissions to regular wholesale customers? Normal discounts are below dealer cost so that isn't going to work.

I split it right down the middle(COST & LIST) with most of my wholesalers, as there just isn't room for anything else imo.

Yup, split it.

Don't be afraid to tell them what your cost is on something. Makes you look good when being honest about it.

My newest counterguy just learned this the hard way when he quoted 25% off a transmission (completely missing the RED "sale price is less than cost" CDK message) and I actually honored the $150 loss we took on the deal to teach a valuable lesson of paying attention.

We just use a straight $100 over cost, both for ease and for competing with the likes of Jasper, and we tell the customers that. They appreciate the honesty, and they like that they have a chance to sell an OE product.

If engine / trans is discounted on locator, we subtract the discount from cost and add 15% for wholesale customers. If its not discounted, we go C+10%.
