PACE Program

I realize the old days are not returning but bear with me.

Does anyone, besides me, remember the days of 5% stock order allowance and 8% return reserve? Of course we could only order stock once per week but ...

Does anyone, besides me, remember target order discounts far in excess of 20 %?

Then they took away and took away along with program after program.

Now just think of how much money GM has spent thinking up and developing these programs. How much more money they have spent programming computers to make all this work. How much they have spent on new & improved warehouses, etc. This number has to be in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Now what did all that time, effort and money get GM?

Far fewer dealerships.

Even fewer dealership owners.

An absolute fraction of the market share they once had. Regardless of how you measure market share - New vehicles or service & parts

And most importantly - dealership employees who are generally not happy with GM and don't trust GM to do the right thing.

It seems a lot of GM employees may feel dealership employees are out to get GM at every turn. And dealership employee absolutely KNOW that GM doesn't care and will strive - at every turn - to take away dollars from the dealership and employees.

It seems that GM is solely out for themselves.

AMEN!!!! Whiner...I remember all that and more. I remember when winning on Sunday meant sales on Monday. Now NASCAR doesn't even run real cars.

I also remember those days. So many things have gone away never to return. Gotta love that great GM feeling. But listen to your DMA you will make more money on this new program. This I have to see. Have a great weekend everyone.

Nope, he got kicked out of the GM tower in MI, and last I heard he's in TX somewhere.

Our DMA was here late last week with the "calculator" or "generator" whatever they want to call it.
Let's just say unless you hit 112%+ YOY you will be losing $$$ on your monthly credit. This should be interesting.

Right now, we would lose $50+k... in a perfect world where service does EVERYTHING perfect and we hit 112% we make an extra $25K.

How many of you have had the service managers ask "how much of this money goes to service?"

But according to the General, they've been working all these years on removing "The Wall" that
exists between the parts and service departments. Seems to me after seeing what this latest program entails, it's more like a shotgun wedding!

How about NONE! Let's compare the gross on $100.00 of labor versus the gross on a $100.00 of parts!

How about I'll trade you for that $40-50k month in gross transfer on CP sales (or take out the difference when we don't hit our objective because Service doesn't keep up their end of the deal)!

If they contribute to a net GAIN in this program, I'll gladly give Service whatever monies are ABOVE what Parts normally earns. There's your "carrot"!
