Thank you all very much for the insight.
We are just beginning the shopping process, and I am already thinking that our best option might be to try and leverage a better contract with Reynolds and carry on....
Have a great weekend guys!

I admit that the best feature is the price, but the system is workable... give it time and give it a chance.

It took a few inventories to understand and modify the variance (thru spreadsheet merging) to be a productive part of the inventory process. Special orders are not a problem for us anymore. It took some getting used to, but I completely understand the process and there is very seldom an issue, and it usually ends up being one person not following protocol and not following the work flow for special orders. Everything (Special Orders) in the building is NOT PAID for, but rather has a deposit that is paid in advance. The deposit is then applied when the special order is "Filled" on an RO or a CT. It really works... but the whole team has to be on the same page and follow the process.

I have been on Arkona/Dealertrack for 5-7 years, maybe more ?? And I actually find Dealertrack a good choice. It is not a Cadillac (the former UCS or R&R) and has its quirks. If you are accustom to an Escalade, the Kia Soul will be rather uncomfortable for a few miles... The savings are worth it, or so I think.

Most of the complaints I read on page one are unfounded for the most part. If you don't want to make it work, it won't. Change is difficult and since you mention being on R&R for a long time, you will find what you are looking for... Look to make it work and understand the processes, and it will work for you. Look for it to fail and it will fail you. I was on UCS for many years and then going to Arkona (now Dealertrack) was very difficult, especially with a large wholesale operation.

However, the price is very attractive. It will make your dept more profitable immediately.

Pitfalls in the past have been addressed. Their tech support team is much-much better. I have come to feel comfortable with the system.

- your mileage may vary.

I agree with GT38 it does work. We went from RR to dealertrac at the last store I managed. It is a steep learning curve, just don't try to compare it to RR. The changer over went very well, all to the penny. The coaches that helped us were not parts people at all and they admitted it but they did all they could. RR is what I have now and it is great but costly. The just too 6910 away a while back, our owner is the administrator and he cant change the security setting for me and RR will not.
I have tried to get out rep to help him do it but it's touchy situation.
We also got the scanner they offer, it's not great.
