Part finally here.

Part finally here.

Postby Partsgm » Sat Jan 04, 2020 1:29 am

I just got in a body shop part that was ordered for a customer way back on September 9th. After many emails and calls to my DM and everyone I could call at GM all saying SPAC case was closed last month and expected to ship every damn week this thing just showed up on the truck this morning. Thank God this was my last order that is insanely outstanding. All other old orders from strike time were cancelled by customers or just written off figuring we will never get the items. I think GM should cancel all outstanding orders and let dealers know we should re order. Problem is how many dealers don't go over invoices every week to make sure they weren't billed. I guarantee GM billed and collected on thousands of parts dealers never received.

Had 2 leaf springs ordered for a vehicle down order. Got 1 in 7 days. Finally reordered and set up a spac case after the second one didn't show for 4 weeks. GM couldn't give us an update, status or ETA. Got the third one just in time for the second one to show up.....yup, GM wins again. They make money when they sell or make a half hearted attempt to do so, then you get the 1st one you ordered and they get to charge you 35% to ship the one you wanted in the first place back.........You can't make this stuff up. It's like a cheap novel that sucks and the author makes millions off it even though it's no benefit to anyone else......smh!

We ordered a bumper cover 84042377 out of 087 because no one had one I could get. Friday the B/S called crying because the insurance company is having a cow to get this car out. Checked locator and a local wholesaler had just gotten 7 in. Ordered it from them, delivered it yesterday and today the one I ordered showed up. I knew it would show up the day after I no longer needed it. 3 weeks to get a CSO order from the only place that had one.

I religiously go over all of my GM invoices and compare what arrives to my invoice, and what credits we should have received and not received from GM. I make copies of the invoices and mark off every part per the packing slips, especially the cross shipped parts. If you don't do this there is great chance that you have been shafted.

Yep, I do the same. I learned that fast from the parts manager that has been training me at another location of ours. When I print invoices every Friday for accounting I print a extra for me to sit down and check every single part and Mark off what hasn't arrived so I can keep checking untill it does. If it doesn't after a month or so we file a claim. If your not checking you DEFINITELY have gotten billed on parts that never show.

I pull my invoices daily. I then match up the packing slips with invoices. I paper clip them together till all parts can be accounted for. Then I staple them and send them to accounting. Before the strike, I would only give a week. Now, I have to give more time. Which is a big pain in my rear. If you don't though GM is going to screw you over.

Trying to close out a month in a corporate owned dealership is a fucking nightmare with the way GM does their invoices and how long it now takes before all the parts on one invoice are receipted.

At the end of some months, I have to break down 6 or 7 invoices to what's been received and what hasn't

With Toyota, if they ship a part from a different warehouse, it's on it's own invoice. Not mixed in with shit you got a week and a half ago from your own warehouse.

GM was nice enough to invoice us for a ship direct part (ordered 12/30/2019) on 12/31/2019, and show NO shipping info. I finally got the part yesterday, 1/8/2020. Dirty rat bastards.

Tell you what gets my goat. I check on a part, and it shows in transit to the PDC crossdock. Only to see it come in our back door with in the next hour or so. How can they tell who, what or where a part is and then not want to pay us when we tell them it never showed up?
