I TALKED TO A CARQUEST REP. HE SAID THE DORMAN ONES ARE MISS BUILT.

WE HAVE HAD A WARRANTY CUSTOMER IN A LOANER SINCE AUGUST. HE STOPS THE FIRST OF EVERY MONTH TO CHECK STATUS AND REDO THE PAPERWORK. HE HAS MILESED OUT 2 CARS SO FAR. OUR DMA CHECKED ON IT FOR US THEY ARE GUESSING JULY FOR A RELEASE DATE SO THEY OFFER HIM AN EXTRA $2500 TO TRADE HIS CAR IN BUT THAT JUST MEANS WE ARE STUCK WITH IT

That is just fantastic. Now we have to look up SI documents to determine part availability. I am not very good at searching SI.

Hopefully, these bulletins will be cross-referenced in the parts catalog.

How's that customer at the center of everything you do workin' for ya?

It changes numbers to 19419980. Still no ETA. Locator shows dealers that have it are all located in California. You also need to order gasket number 12634467 if you don't have one. Doc # PIP5527H
does mention that part not available until 2nd Quarter. Mixed with COVID-19...it could be 3rd quarter..next year. Good Luck!

Just imagine the money GM is spending on rentals for the cars that are under warranty. This situation should not be happening and someone from GM should be losing their job because of this. GM wants us to sell more parts, but yet they can not provide parts to us in a timely manner. I understand the COVID19 virus has effected operations, but a lot of this was happening way before this crisis.

With all that is going on in the world today, I am slowly losing all hope. GM, to me, has become a big joke. Maybe it is me, but it seems they are cutting costs everywhere. To the point that it is hurting them in areas they refuse to see. What do you tell a customer who has been waiting for almost a year to get a part? They want us to buy stuff in bulk and then penalize us for RIM. They are still shoving shit down our throats, when we are all trying to keep our heads above water. I firmly believe that GM is using this as away to trim off more dealers.

Don't be so negative! Lol...

All that's required for you to be successful as a GM parts manager is to grow your rolling YOY 6 month parts purchases from GM by 12%.........FOREVER,
never buy any GM parts from outside vendors, don't install aftermarket parts on GM cars, never return anything, blah, blah, blah.....lol
Never mind the fact that GM often can't keep up with demand.....that's our problem.
I agree, between the strike issues from last year, and now the pandemic, the future looks pretty bad for this business.
It was a completely different ball game 15 years ago.
Full control to buy as much as you want, from wherever you want. $20k weekly stock orders with our Delco supplier were common. Remember all the 687?
Everyone is selling below cost on Powertrain and Performance Parts, etc, etc. There is not enough gross to offset these "loss leaders".
The current PASE model has forced dealers to take the "race to the bottom" approach to keep purchase increases rolling, and GM squeezes the noose just a bit tighter every year.
It has become a pipe dream.
I have friends in many different industries, and when I bring up how GM operates, they just shake their heads.

Be safe fellow "essentials"
