GM EPC

GM EPC

Is anyone just using the GM EPC in dealer world and not paying for Snap-On? Our owner is wanting to cut this expense out, but I really have never used the EPC in parts workbench so I'm not sure about the Pros and Cons.

It is my understanding - You have no choice! Unless you do not want parts catalogs, which is impossible.

Based on what we see here, Global Connect parts catalog will only work on those PC's that have been authorized to run the EPC. Each PC running the EPC must have a current license, which you must pay for.

The EPC will not run on any PC we have except for the PC's that have the catalog installed.

well I guess we can't use just the app in Parts Workbench without paying for the license, so he will have to find another way to cut expenses...hopefully it's not me :?

We use online only yes you still have to pay for the licenses but it is cheaper than having a server in house we pay 995.00 a month for 10 stations

A couple of questions.
1. Have you had problems with using the EPC on line. Like going down?
2. Is is better than having the in house server?

I guess what are the pros and cons of going strictly on-line?

I'm all for buying the snapon USB drive each month. The online EPC has been nothing but trouble. It crashes almost daily (see attached image). VERY unreliable.
