This is news to me, I never have ever had to put down the delivery or in serv. date for a key code before. Sounds like some B.S.

Did they tell you this in writing or verbally?

Reading through bulletin

#10-00-89-009D: Key Code Security Rules and Information

There is no mention of delivery date or in service date.

You can print that our on global for your auditor's reference.

Why would that matter, especially if these cars are over 10 years old? I want to see that in writing.

My guess is the Auditors are trying to get their paychecks a little higher (if the are paid by % of "errors" found)

I would like to see that in writing as well. We document the owner information (drivers lic.) along with the title. We keep all of that in a locked file cabinet as per GM's requirements. They should send the auditors out to the PDC's and purchasing departments so we get the back order situation under control.

exactly, that's why I was asking.

GM Auditors don't even know their own policies. Shocking...
