Scrapping??? Toss in the dumpster??

Yes. Mind you, this is before the discussion with said rep yesterday afternoon. I had done maybe 20 and after each claim was paid, it was tossed with the rest of the warranty scrap for the week. I called her to let her know and verify the procedure. My question to her is was " the claim has paid...it could take my small dealership 1.5 years to amass a pallet for a return, are you going to debit me if not returned in a timely fashion?" That's when she shrugged and said "she didnt know."

You don't have to have a full pallet i usually send them back when i have 20-30 air bags just have to be on a pallet to return

WRONG . I RECYCLE BATTERIES BECAUSE I CAN PUT THEM IN MY RECYCLE BIN AT HOME. IT DOES NOT TAKE ANY MAN POWER TO CARRY A BAG OF ALKALINE BATTERIES TO MY RECYCLE BIN ONCE EVERY 6 MONTHS. I DO ENOUGH STUFF FOR FREE . THE PEOPLE THAT ARE TELLING YOU TO SHIP THEM BACK ARE THE LAWYERS OF GM. SO THEY MAKE SURE THERE IS NO EVIDENCE

Wait, If we don't return them we get debited? That's the first I heard about that. Are we talking about the recall airbags or the ones that GM requests to WPC? I don't believe we've ever had a request from WPC.

do all air bags and inflators go to the same place now?? where we can mix in all different ones on 1 pallet?? and I believe that we get to claim $20 which we put to 2306 parts admin for each bag to return. wish they would just let us return with our DLI driver each day.

Gm pays $20.00 per airbag for freight and admin fees. I take that and put it towards freight account. So Yes gm does pay you to return the airbags.

I should clarify. Gm only pays the admin fee on the recall airbags only. As for the warranty side GM pays .2 to deploy the air bag.

Please don't just throw them in the trash undeployed. Waste management had a garbage truck get into some kind of accident around here last year. When they were going through the spilled trash they found a lot of appliances, batteries and stuff that was not supposed to be in the truck. Waste management actually tracked the the source of the the illegal dumping and filed charges against the customers.
