WPC shipping advice

Postby jslvlith » Fri Mar 26, 2021 3:29 pm

I have a transmission core that the WPC is requesting back. It has been quite awhile since I have had something that I wasn't sure if it was hazardous or not and I want to be 100% sure before I ship. Does anyone know if this needs to go out has hazardous or not? Thanks in advance!

We shipped one out about a month ago and did not send it as hazardous. There were no issues for us, but I know how GM likes to constantly change things so YMMV.

Following PartScott disclaimer: unless something really changed........

Transmissions are not hazmat. just drain as much oil as you can.

1. Used Fuel system components: Fuel injectors, fuel pipes etc. .considered Dangerous Goods in Apparatus
2. shocks and struts, considered pressurized hydraulic.
3. batteries are wet filled with acid
4. seat belt pretensioners and airbags.
5. used engines are considered since they have fuel.
