Tesla Dealer Question

Tesla Dealer Question

With auto manufacturers moving to this all electric product line , What are your service departments selling in the way of service maintenance work for repairs ? We are seeing a lot more of these maintenance schedules setting vehicles up for longer and longer time tables to return to the dealer , Without engines or oil life monitors to get the customer back to you, What are service departments supposed to do to survive as the industry shifts ? cant possibly live off of warranty and new car preps ?

You are going to have to go away from a reactive service department mindset, but still keep it for when there are real customer concerns and start creating maintenance menus with mileage intervals. 20k, 40k, 60k, etc.
Tesla started with cabin air filters, hvac recharge/leak check, dessicant bag change, tire rebalance, and rotation, alignment, suspension retorque, wipers, brake service, firmware/software update, key fob battery, washer fluid, brake fluid contamination test, thats all i can remember.
But this will have to be customer pay, unless maintenance plan is purchased by the customer.
