CORE RIPOFF

Think about how many dealers don't pay that close of attention and didn't claim it. GM counts on it to make screw more money from the dealer body that they claim is so important to them.

Not a core, but we ordered two side panels for truck beds, SPAC changed the order to orders for the entire bed. Went from 500 cost to 4000. I knew I did not want these weeks prior to recieving them, was told to accept the shipment as I paid for it.

Had to unload with a forklift, store until GM could find someone to pick the return (two weeks) and then spend an hour getting them correctly on the flatbed.

Not even a handling charge on the credit. Surprised they didn't try to sneak in a 35%er.

And no, I don't have time to send 14 emails to 8 different members of staff that will do nothing to rectify the situation. I'm sure there is a process to look for such a credit. And I'm sure its overly complicated, on purpose.

Why is there a $400.00 core on this muffler? 84896833 03.701 MUFFLER, EXH (W/EXH PIPE) (INCLS 14) G234,334 (05-06) (L8T) 2021 - 2021 01 8C 1780A

Majority of GM exhaust pieces are now $400 as well as everything else with cores going up . The core system has gotten so out of hand its not even a joke anymore and the shops could care less . It causes such bad blood with mechanical and collision shops , who lost the core , who threw out the box , etc.... the only one benefitting from this is GM

In the GM Core Return portal there is now a message that says why and how they expect to correct the short pay on heavy cores....There is also a thank you for dealers that bought specific cases to the attention of SRC. I want to know why it is taking them 10 months to get through my Light Cores. I have almost 20K in fascia and light cores that are on applications that have some of the cores inspected and paid, but the remainder just sit there in "dispatched" status. Anyone have this problem also, and is there a way to get them to pay for the cores I sent back almost a year ago?

BRIAN8474.

NO PROBLEM GETTING CORES PAID FOR THE MOST PART.
I DID GET DINGED ON A "NON REBUILDABLE CORE" IT WAS A TURBOCHARGER. IT WAS PROBABLY CRACKED ANYWAY. CAME FROM A BUMP SHOP.
I JUST PASSED ALONG THE CHARGE TO THE BUMP SHOP. GLAD WE STILL DEAL WITH THEM. THE CHARGE THEY INCURRED WONT HURT OUR RELATIONSHIP.

PartsOnBackorder, do your wholesale customers pay the core charges up front? If they get parts from an aftermarket store they're paying them up front for certain! This leaves the burden of core retention to them, until you get it back. If it looks sketchy, let them know you'll reimburse them once GM reimburses you! I have had to do it, but it can be done with the customer understanding it all up front, in advance. GM uses core dollars for their own cash flow. They don't care who knows it.

HOW MANY OF YOU GOT RIPPED OFF BY THE CORE RETURN PEOPLE?

I WAS ON A YEARLY CALL WITH OUR LOCAL PDC 007 LAST WEEK .
THE CALL WAS SO WE CAN VENT A LITTLE .
MOST PEOPLE WERE COMPLAINING ABOUT BEING DEBITED BECAUSE OF OIL AT THE BOTTOM OF ENGINE CORES.
LIKE I SAID MOST PEOPLE. WHICH MEANS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CORE RETURN PEOPLE.

WHY IS IT THAT WE HAVE BEEN SENDING BACK CORES OUR LIFETIME AND ALL OF A SUDDEN WE ARE ALL DOING IT WRONG.

I SAY ITS A MONEY GRAB.

OK OK OK . DURING THE MEETING AND LEADING UP TO IT I HAVE NOT BEEN ONE OF THE DEALERS THAT WAS RAPED BY THE CORE PEOPLE, SO I GAVE THEM A THUMBS UP.

2 DAYS LATER THEY DINGED ME $100. FOR OIL AT THE BOTTOM OF A ENGINE. I CALL BULLSHIT AND WENT ON WITH MY LIFE.

TODAY MY CORE CREDIT WAS SHORT $400. ON LIGHT CORES.

1-CONVERTER WORTH 100
1-CONVERTER WORTH 400

AND SOME HOW RECEIVED CREDIT FOR A NUMBER THAT DOES NOT EVEN BELONG TO THIS CORE RETURN.

I AM A PRICK SO THIS IS WHAT I SENT THE CORE PEOPLE:

THE GIG IS UP.
STOP STEALING FROM THE DEALERS.

ITS FUNNY HOW ALL OF A SUDDEN THE WHOLE COUNTRY IS BEING RIPPED OFF BY YOU.

LAST WEEK YOU SAID I HAD OIL IN A ENGINE CORE I CALL BULLSHIT.
I TIP OVER EACH CORE ON ITS SIDE. IF IT DOSE NOT LEAK OIL I SHIP IT.

YOU GUYS ARE LYING AND YOU ARE LYING ABOUT OTHER DEALERS DOING THE SAME THING.

MOST OF US DEALERS HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR A LONG TIME.

ON THE OTHER HAND YOU HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR MAYBE A YEAR.

YOU CANT STEAL FROM US.

WHERE IS THE PROOF THAT THERE WAS OIL IN THE BOTTOM OF THIS ENGINE?
YOU HAVE NONE
I WILL BE TAKING PICTURES OF EVERY CORE AND WHEN YOU STEAL FROM ME I WILL CATCH YOU

with that thought in mind, I got dinged for a $400 cat core that was returned that they stated was an 'empty core'. This was on a warranty job, you can't bill the core on the repair order for it will get rejected. So again the dealer eats it.
