Engine core crate not perfect...question

Engine core crate not perfect...question

Postby cain555 » Tue Jul 19, 2022 11:08 pm

So we have an over the counter sale of an engine and the crate doesn't look fabulous, GM may or may not accept it.

My question is- if they don't issue credit bc of this, will they send it back to me?

Thanks!

We have had a few cores returned to us that the mechanic couldn't read the instructions to remove the 4 bolts. We have had to piece the cardboard back together and even had to add when a whole side was missing. Never have had a problem with receiving credit, but that was before the new return center opened.

We had one a few weeks ago where the tech just ripped the crate off ripping the 4 bolts, we just slid it back over and wrapped the whole thing in shrink wrap so the lid stayed on.

Recieved the credit today

The cardboard crates for cores are problematic.

My solution is to shrink wrap them regardless. So far, touch wood, I have rec'd full core credit on everyone.
