Autosoft has cost at $57.01 as well. Thanks for the heads up! We just got 6 in this morning with 6 more set to arrive tomorrow, we had three jobs done that I was able to correct before the paperwork was submitted.

I would almost guarantee that the cost discrepancy is due to GM lowering it after the December price tape was compiled.

Food for thought and your consideration - it pisses me off...

84304240 was $57.01, now it is $35.31. Difference is $21.70. GM would have paid a MINIMUM of 40% mark-up on that $21.70 or $8.68.

There are supposedly approximately 6 million of these trucks out there to do. Assuming they would all be done - NOT likely but makes for an interesting calculation.

$8.68 not paid to dealers times 6,000,000 = $52,080,000

That is $52 million saved by GM

That is $52 million dollars in profit TAKEN from dealerships parts & service departments.

Keep in mind that GM is REALLY concerned about dealer profitability and are pulling out all the stops to assist dealers in this time.

On a side note I too tried to order the air bag(s) - as the bulletin states, they cancelled.

Update: Below is the answer I received from my DMA:

Hi Bob;

Appears there was a price reduction on 11/26/20.
Repairs with a Job Card Open date of 11/25/2020 and earlier: Part Number 84304240 will be reimbursed $57.01. After 11/26/2020, they will be reimbursed $35.31.

Anyone have any luck getting these after the pre ship orders came in?

I ordered 20 airbags yesterday on a CSO order and I received 5 today. I am thinking they are limiting qty's to dealers. My DMA told me that Dec 8th was the first day that GM opened up ordering for these so I put an order in right away. Customers are already calling about the recall wanting to have service schedule them in.

I ordered 20 84304240 and 5 84255508 on the 8th and received them this morning. Placed an additional order and now in review status again
