SERVICE CONTRACTS AFFECTING PASE NUMBERS

Post by torgy123 »

With the prices of everything climbing we are getting hit more and more by the service contract companies to install used powertrain components. I told my service advisor that we won't purchase these, and bill them on a work order for a GM vehicle. As far as I am concerned the warranty company can provide the engine or transmission, and give us a $250 handling fee. For us, 1 or 2 of these in a month, and were off PASE.

What are you doing with service contract companies that are wanting to have you install used powertrain components?

Same here, which triggered an email from my DPM, asking me what to tell his bosses......

We had to do a few used 2.4's because you know, GM HAS NONE

I still havent figured out a way around it

as far as i know , if GM cannot provide a part number than you have a exception. you can file that up to 30 days after the end of the month.

Here's a thought for when you have no way around billing the non gm part number on the repair order. Cost at a penny and code the remaining amount out of 687.

If they catch you doing that though, you risk getting kicked out of all GM programs and have to pay back any PASE money you received (I think in the last 18 months)
